Geurie to Maryvale 132kV Transmission Line
Delivering High Voltage Transmission Infrastructure in Regional NSW
Essential Energy is building a new 132kV overhead transmission line from Geurie Zone Substation to Maryvale, providing a connection point to the new Maryvale Solar Farm. This critical network link will support the integration of regional solar and battery storage into the NSW electricity grid and help unlock clean energy generation in the Central-West region of NSW.
Located in regional NSW, the project forms part of the broader infrastructure required to support Australia’s energy transition while delivering lasting benefits for regional communities, local suppliers and skilled workers on the ground.
Outcome
Intium is delivering the construction and commissioning program for the Geurie to Maryvale transmission line project, supporting the expansion of regional transmission infrastructure and strengthening collaboration with regional delivery partners. Once complete and commissioned, the new high-voltage connection will provide the network connection required for the Maryvale Solar and Energy Storage Project to export electricity to the NSW electricity network.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Intium is working closely with Essential Energy and Country Powerline Constructions to deliver the Maryvale connection works safely, efficiently and in line with network requirements.
- The project demonstrates Intium’s ability to support network service providers on complex regional transmission infrastructure, bringing together project management, construction coordination, commissioning capability, and local delivery knowledge
- This collaborative approach is helping ensure the new connection infrastructure is delivered with strong coordination between Essential Energy and local delivery teams
Intium’s Scope of Work
Intium is supporting Essential Energy in the delivery of critical energy infrastructure, connecting the new Geurie Substation to the Maryvale connection point.

Delivering the construction and commissioning program, including the installation of approximately 9 kms of new 132kV transmission line

The works involve a combination of steel and concrete poles, associated transmission hardware and modern high-capacity fibre cable to securely connect the project to the local network

The transmission line runs south of Geurie, adjacent to the Mitchell Highway, extending east toward the area north of Maryvale.
