BOOM – Mulwala Solar Farm in Southern NSW

Our team has been awarded a Build, Own, Operate and Maintain (BOOM) contract for the delivery of connection infrastructure at a solar farm in southern NSW.

We will deliver the full connection scope including the design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of a switching station. This includes a two-kilometre underground cable linking the solar farm to a substation on the local distribution network operated by Essential Energy.

We were engaged early on, contributing to critical aspects of environmental approvals and addressing technical complexity, and are now delivering the full connection scope with the aim of supporting smooth integration into the local network.

Construction and Commissioning to Connect Geurie Substation to Maryvale Solar Farm

Our team is supporting Essential Energy in the delivery of critical energy infrastructure connecting the new Geurie Substation to Maryvale Solar Farm in regional NSW.

Our team is delivering the construction and commissioning program, installing approximately 9km of new 132kV transmission lines, using a combination of steel and concrete poles and associated hardware.

We’re proud to be partnering with Country Powerline Constructions as our local delivery partner, combining regional capability with deep local network knowledge while supporting local jobs on the ground.

330 kV Connection for a Flagship NSW Renewable Asset

Our team has completed a major project, extending our capabilities in 330kV high-voltage infrastructure to help connect a NSW renewable energy asset to the National Electricity Market.

Our specialist technicians delivered switch gear installation, pre-commissioning, and testing, drawing on the strength of our regionally based NSW workforce.

In this project we were committed to delivering complex technical outcomes, while also building capability and opportunity locally, creating regional jobs, and contributing to long-term skill development.

Modular Grid Connection for a Central-West Orana Solar Farm

Our team is delivering innovative network infrastructure for a major solar farm in the Central-West Orana region. The project is expected to generate approximately 100 MW of renewable energy – enough to power an estimated 40,000 NSW households.

We are designing, constructing, commissioning, and ultimately decommissioning the network infrastructure required to connect the solar farm to the national energy grid.

Leveraging a modular and flexible design approach, we enabled full Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of infrastructure prior to site delivery – significantly reducing risk, cost, and on-site construction hours. This streamlined methodology reduced delivery timelines by around 20% on this project.

Transmission Infrastructure for the Parkes Special Activation Precinct

Our team is delivering transmission infrastructure for the Parkes Special Activation Precinct, supporting regional growth and strengthening the National Electricity Network.

A key milestone has been achieved with transmission pole erection, delivered on time and on budget using Intium’s own equipment.

This reduces reliance on hire, lowers supply chain risk, and enables faster delivery. Works continue with 8.5 km of high-voltage line, upgrades, and road crossings.

Delivered with Country Powerline Constructions, part of a 4,800-hectare development expected to create up to 3,000 jobs.

Bus Depot Electrification – Leichhardt, NSW

Our team is supporting the electrification of the Transit Systems Leichhardt bus depot, delivering high-voltage planning and grid connection support.

Engaged by Zenobē, we developed the HVISMP to safely manage high-voltage assets across construction, commissioning, and operation.

We supported the DNSP connection process, navigating technical, safety, and compliance requirements.

This approach reduced risk and supported safe integration through to commissioning.

Grid Connection Support – Graphite Energy Projects

Our team is supporting Graphite Energy across multiple projects, providing specialist support through the DNSP connection process.

We assist with applications, technical submissions, and stakeholder coordination to achieve compliant grid access outcomes.

Our involvement spans planning, design, and commissioning phases, aligning project delivery with network requirements.

Early engagement reduces connection risk and supports smoother progression to energisation.
